Getting started

Import your contacts

5 min read

You can bring contacts in from a spreadsheet in a couple of minutes. The import wizard maps your columns automatically and lets you tag everyone as they arrive.

Prepare your file

Export your list as a CSV. The only required column is an email address. Any other columns — first name, last name, phone, company — map to contact fields automatically. A clean header row makes matching effortless:

CSV
email,first_name,last_name,company
jane@acme.com,Jane,Doe,Acme Inc
sam@globex.com,Sam,Lee,Globex

Run the import

  1. 1

    Open Contacts → Add contacts

Choose Upload a file (or Paste to drop a list straight in).

  2. 2

    Upload your CSV

Drag it in. We detect the columns and preview the first rows.

  3. 3

    Match your columns

Email, name, and phone are matched for you. Adjust any that are off.

  4. 4

    Tag & set status

Add a tag like newsletter so you can find this batch later, and confirm they are subscribed.

  5. 5

    Finish

We import in the background and show you how many were added, updated, or skipped.

Duplicates are handled for you

If a contact already exists, we update their details and merge tags instead of creating a second copy.

Only import people who opted in

Import contacts who genuinely asked to hear from you — customers, signups, event attendees. Uploading a purchased or scraped list is the fastest way to get blocked and hurt your deliverability for everyone. When in doubt, leave it out.

No purchased lists

Buying or renting email lists violates our terms and anti-spam law. It leads to spam complaints, blocked domains, and account suspension.
