Sending limits for new workspaces
3 min read
On a paid plan, your plan's full sending limits apply from the moment you subscribe. On the free plan or a trial, a new workspace starts with a small daily allowance that rises by itself over the first week — you don't need to do anything.
The limits
- First 24 hours: up to 50 emails.
- Days 2 to 7: up to 500 emails a day.
- After the first week: your plan's own limits apply.
- Paid plans: none of the above — your plan's limits (for example, API Essentials sends up to 10,000 a day) apply from day one.
- Days are counted in UTC, so the daily count also resets at 00:00 UTC.
What it counts
Only email sent through BlueyEmail: the API and BlueyEmail sending addresses. Email sent from your own connected Gmail, Outlook or SMTP account isn't counted — those have their own per-mailbox warm-up instead.
Why new workspaces start small
BlueyEmail sends from shared servers, and their reputation with Gmail, Outlook and others belongs to every customer on them. A brand-new free or trial account has no sending history yet, so its first week is kept small while it builds one. Every account — paid ones included — is also protected by automatic content checks and bounce and complaint monitoring.
How to see where you are
- Dashboard: a banner at the top shows today's usage, when it resets and when the limit rises.
- API:
GET /api/v2/meandGET /api/v2/emails/statsincludesending_limits, and every send response carriesX-Daily-Send-Limit,X-Daily-Send-RemainingandX-Daily-Send-Resetheaders while a limit applies.
When you reach it
- Nothing over the limit is sent, and nothing is queued for later.
- Campaigns wait and carry on by themselves when the limit resets or rises.
- API requests get
429 DAILY_SEND_LIMITwithretry_atand aRetry-Afterheader — retry after that time. - The workspace owner and admins get an email the first time it happens each day.
